<International Circulation>: China has very much a developing health system with a heavy population burden and a vast land mass. Do you think telemedicine can be applied in China to reduce the stress on the wards?
Dr Riccardo Cappato: I think it would be particularly helpful in those areas which are most remote because it will facilitate the access for hospital checkups, monitoring and therapy. Furthermore, it will limit the obstacles represented by geographical distances and with it economical considerations. Because, travelling to the closest hospital in these remote areas is a necessity not everybody can afford and having the opportunity to give just a phone call or find an intermediate telemedicine based way to report your condition to the closest physician is a good way to compensate for those obstacles.
